Why create clutter?

  • Clutter can be by-products of having limited time and energy
  • Life is short and other more interesting things seemed more refreshing and sociable to do with our time and energy. It is just collateral of a busy life.
  • Sometimes our minds are cluttered with negative thoughts; unexpressed emotions; unfulfilled goals; restrictive self-expectations; confusion and more, and we tend to create the same chaos around us. For some of us, this may represent as clutter in our home; work; car; bags or seemingly everywhere we go.
  • Sometimes we hold onto another person's items because they have become lost to us years ago and we want to hold onto something of theirs.
  • Sometimes we do not know how to create emptier spaces; and it just becomes uncomfortable somehow when we do. We feel more positive with things around us.
  • We may acquire more items than we have storage space to keep neat; discounts and free items e.g. newspapers may catch our attraction.
  • Some of us may secretly feel undeserving of the pride in ourselves we might expect to feel for de-cluttering and re-organising our cluttered spaces and so avoid what we do not deserve like we would a punch in the face.
